Hi, My name is Tanna Strom and I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist. I consider myself a Relationship Therapist but I also feel strongly about individual well being and see them as very interconnected. Thus I see couples, families and individuals.
I am in private practice as a solo practitioner so I can afford full privacy for my clients with my own office suite that I do not share with other professionals and their clients. I am located in a quiet, calm and pleasing aesthetic enviroment as I feel this is part of a quality therapeutic experience. My practice is located about the 71st and Yale area of Tulsa, OK. To create an even more private setting I have put extra time in between my clients so that they rarely run into each other opposed to back to back, hour on the hour scheduling.
I love what I do and I feel my therapy work is my life purpose. I work with the whole family. I enjoy the mix of couples with relationship issues, family work with parents & their children or teens and then the one on one work with individuals of all ages. I have had the privilege of working as a licensed therapist for the past 14 years.
My specialty areas include: Improving & Strengthening Relationships, Coping Strategies for Adjustment and Transitions, Reduction of Stress & Anxiety, Decreasing Depression, Healing from Grief & Loss, Increasing Self Esteem, Recovering from Abuse, Peaceful Conflict Resolution, Positive Parenting, Pre-Marital Counseling, Strategies for Child and Adolescent Problems.
I work with my clients collaboratively to find concrete, practical solutions to the problems they wish to address. Each individual, family or couple is unique which means their treatment will be unique. I draw from many different therapeutic orientations to find what will work best for each individual, couple or family.
My other licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor / Supervisor allows me to act as a supervisor for LPC Candidates who are in supervision to become licensed counselors. I enjoy helping supervisees find their own unique strengths and talents. I also do supervision for therapists who are in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist. I have found being an RPT to be invaluable in my work with chilrdren.
I would be happy to talk with you about your specific situation to see if we are a fit before you come in to see me. Please call if I can answer any questions.
